Activate Nsfas Wallet for 2024-2025 Online

NSFAS-funded students who qualify for direct NSFAS allowances for the academic year 2024-2025 will receive cash funds in their NSFAS Wallets, necessitating the need to activate it. Your NSFAS Wallet will enable you to withdraw cash and/or spend it at any NSFAS-registered merchant. Allowance amounts are determined in consultation with institutions and communicated to NSFAS at the time of registration.

When NSFAS creates your NSFAS Wallet account, you will receive a “Welcome” SMS advising you to verify your account. Maintain constant access to the cell phone number you provided to NSFAS when you applied in 2024, as this is the number NSFAS will use to deposit your funds.

You can withdraw cash from any of Nsfas’ cash withdrawal merchants, Checkers, Boxer, U-Save, and select Spar stores. It should be noted that these stores have daily cash withdrawal limits ranging from R200 to R1000.
Spending at a registered store has no limit, which means you can spend up to the full value of your cash wallet.

Dial *120*176# and follow the prompts to verify and authenticate the account
You will have to select your own password which will give you access to your account.
Once your account has been verified, you may continue to access your account by dialling the USSD again
You may withdraw cash from participating stores
Pay for goods at participating stores No fee is charged on buy transactions

How to Create a cash voucher for withdrawal or buying

Enter your password
Click send
select option 1 CASH VOUCHER and click send
Enter the amount and click send
Your newly created voucher will be displayed

How to check your Nsfas Wallet Balance

Check your balance online by following the steps

Enter your password
Click send
Select option 3
view your voucher and balance

PLEASE NOTE:

Each screen needs to be acted on within 20 seconds or you will be required to repeat the entire process. You can save the short code as a contact on your phone for easy access.

NSFAS DATES

Nsfas will accept applications from all students pursuing a diploma or degree qualification on September 28, 2023. The application period will end on January 31, 2024, and the selection process will begin. If you are considering applying late, you should think again because late applications will not be accepted.
