When to Apply for UCT Admissions 2026
Applications for the University of Cape Town’s 2026 academic year are now open to all prospective students, regardless of country or language. Applications for undergraduate programs close on July 31, 2025, and postgraduate programs close on August 30, 2025. Ensure all supporting documents are submitted by the deadline to avoid rejection.
UCT 2026 Application (Manual)
Applications for the University of Cape Town open on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at www.uct.ac.za. The only accepted modes of application are online and via the manual process. To apply manually, download and complete the manual application form.
Documents must be submitted as certified electronic copies to admissions@uct.ac.za. Please ensure that you send them only to this email address, as submissions to any other email addresses may cause delays in processing your application.

How to Apply UCT Online
Follow the steps below to apply online to study at the University of Cape Town
- Go to www.uct.ac.za.
- Select Online Applications.
- Agree to the POPI Act.
- Click the “Next Button” to proceed.
- List the full names of all relatives and payment-responsible parties.
- Enter your address and phone number.
- Select your qualification type (undergraduate or postgraduate).
- Enter your last school leaving certificate number and matriculation/Grade 12 year.
- Fill in all required fields, including personal and academic details.
- Enter the name of your most recent high school.
- Choose at least 3 study courses.
- Upload all supporting documents.
- Double-check all entered details for accuracy.
- Confirm accuracy and submit your application.
- Pay the non-refundable application fee and upload proof of payment.
Please Note: The accommodation application is part of the UCT admission process. When applying for admission, simply indicate your accommodation preferences to have your housing needs considered alongside your academic application.
