The CPUT Online Application Link is now open for applications for the 2025-2026 academic year. We encourage all prospective students to apply using our user-friendly online application system. Previous applicants:

If you applied for admission to CPUT in a previous year and were not successful, you are required to submit a new application for the 2025-2026 academic year.

The CPUT has stated that the 2025-2026 online application link will be available from RIGHT NOW till the deadline. Make sure to submit your application before the closing date of 2025. Prospective applicants who missed the deadline for the general application will have another chance in February of the following year during the late application period.

Who May Apply Online via CPUT Application Link?

The CPUT Application Link is currently open for the following:

First-year undergraduate applicants
Undergraduate qualifications (excluding B Tech qualifications)
Applicants in possession of a valid SA ID number
Applicants that have never studied/applied at CPUT before (do not have an existing student number)
Applicants with SA matric types (e.g. National Senior Certificate {NSC}, National Certificate Vocational {NCV}, Senior Certificate {SC}, NTC)

What is the CPUT online application fee For 2025?

Online application is free of charge but the paper-based application fee remains R100 for early submissions and R150 for late submissions

What is the Closing Date for Applications?

The closing date for both paper-based and online applications is 15 March 2025

Can You Apply Both Paper-based and Online Applications?

An applicant is only limited to a maximum of 3 choices using one of the application methods. You cannot use the 2 at the same time

Although mobile devices like tablets and smartphones can access the online application link of CPUT, they have not been optimized for them, therefore we advise using a laptop or desktop computer instead.

How to prepare CPUT supporting documents before uploading them via the online application Link?

All documents must be scanned at 300 dpi and be no larger than 2 MB. Please ensure that scanned documents are clear and readable. Each document that is required to be uploaded must be saved separately

How to verify that the application form was submitted?

An applicant receives an email with details of the submission but if you don’t get or see such an email, you can track your application by going to http://www.cput.ac.za/study/track
