UniZulu Admission Requirements For 2026 Intake

The minimum entry requirement for the University of Zululand degree, diploma, and higher certificate programs is a National Senior Certificate (NSC) with the following criteria:

A minimum of 30% in the language of learning and teaching at the higher education institution, certified by Umalusi.
An achievement rating of 4 (Adequate Achievement, 50-59%) or higher in four subjects chosen from the recognized 20-credit NSC subjects

The University of Zululand Foundation raises funds to support the university’s academic initiatives, including the Rector’s Assistance for Needy Students program. To qualify for this funding:

The student must be registered as a full-time student at the University.
The student must have achieved an average performance of 75% to 100% in the previous academic year or the most recent year of registration.
