How to Apply for NSFAS Again in 2024?

The NSFAS online application is open again for the 2024 academic year. Current 2024 NSFAS Status

Currently, any prospective applicants may submit an NSFAS application between September 28, 2023, and January 31, 2024, at www.nsfas.org.za. NSFAS does not accept applications submitted after the deadline, so it will reject any submissions made after that date.

Revisit the NSFAS Eligibility Criteria

You have to figure out your eligibility for NSFAS financing for the 2024 academic year before starting the application procedure.  Typically, candidates should be

  • South African citizens
  • Earning below R350,000 per annum
  • Plan to study at a public university or TVET college.
  • Having an Email Address and a phone number
  • Vulnerable
  • Physically challenged

 

NSFAS Required Documentation For 2024

Gather all the documentation required to support your application. The documents needed to reapply for NSFAS includes

  • Certified copy of your South African ID or birth certificate
  • Certified ID copies of your parents or guardians
  • Proof of income for your parents or guardians (payslips, affidavits, or SASSA letters)

Register myNSFAS Account Before Applying

If you haven’t previously applied for NSFAS or if it’s been a while since you last applied, you’ll need to create a myNSFAS account. Visit the official NSFAS website (www.nsfas.org.za) and click on the “myNSFAS” tab to start the registration process. Provide your email address and create a secure password. Follow the verification steps, and you’ll receive a confirmation email to activate your account.

 

How to  Complete the NSFAS 2024 Online Application Form

Log in to the online application form after creating a myNSFAS account. Complete all needed fields truthfully, including those pertaining to your personal information, your family’s financial situation, and the academic program you have selected. To avoid any errors or omissions, double-check your entries before submitting the application.

 

Use the myNSFAS site to submit the online application after finishing it. You should submit your application within the specified opening and closing dates of the application period to avoid disqualification. Don’t miss the deadline because applications sent after the deadline are typically not accepted.

Await 2024 NSFAS Feedback

As soon as NSFAS receives confirmation from the Institution that you have received an academic offer, it will let all candidates know the status of their applications. Prior to the start of the academic year, you will be informed of this via SMS, email, and your myNSFAS account.

 

Track & Check Your Application Status

You can check the status of your NSFAS application through your myNSFAS account. Follow the steps below to track your NSFAS application for the academic year 2024

  • visit www.mynsfas.org.za to access your online NSFAS account site.
  • Enter the username and password or ID number.
  • The sign in’ tab should be selected and clicked.
  • Click “Track Funding status” after that.
  • You can check the status of your current NSFAS application.
