The application window for both domestic and international students at Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University (SMU) for the 2026 academic year is open from 1 April 2025 to 31 July 2025 for undergraduate programs. Postgraduate applicants have a later deadline, with all documents due by 30 August 2025.

SMU Manual Application for 2026
- Please note that applicants are limited to TWO choices.
- Some qualifications require applicants to submit additional information as part of their application as outlined on the official website.
Contact the Admissions Office for an application form or download one from the university’s website to apply manually or on paper. You must only submit one application. For the manual application process please ensure that you:
- Complete the form in full and answer all questions with black ink
- Write your names the same as they appear on your identity/passport document.
- Specify the names of the first-choice and second-choice degrees (if applicable)
- Complete the residence section (if applicable).
- Pay the non-refundable application fee of R300.00 and send proof of payment. Use the system’s reference number/student number when making payments.
