How to Reapply for NMU 2026 Admissions

Nelson Mandela University has officially reopened applications for returning students for the 2026 academic year. Both undergraduate and postgraduate students can now reapply.

Prospective applicants who applied for the 2026 admissions but were turned down can now reapply to the same Nelson Mandela University, which is now accepting applications from all applicants, including previous applicants.

When to Reapply to NMU 2026

Prospective applicants who were not accepted for the 2025 academic intake can now reapply to the Nelson Mandela University for the 2026 academic year. The university is currently accepting applications from all applicants, including those who previously applied. The application deadlines are as follows:

South Africa Students’ Application Timeline:

Monday, June 30, 2025 –Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB), Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm), and Bachelor of Radiography (Diagnostic) (BRad) programs.
Friday, August 01, 2025 –All other programs (excluding MBChB, BPharm & BRad).
Tuesday, September 30, 2025 – Final deadline for late applications (excluding MBChB, BPharm & BRad).

International Student Application Cutoff Date:

Tuesday, September 30, 2025: All available programmes (excluding MBChB, BPharm & BRad).

All returning students seeking readmission to Nelson Mandela University for the 2026 academic intake can apply free of charge, with no administration fee required.

How to Reapply at Nelson Mandela University

To reapply for the Nelson Mandela University 2026 readmissions, kindly follow the steps below

Go to www.mandela.ac.za.
Click on STUDY@NMU at the top of the page.
Select Apply Now and choose the Returning Student tab.
Enter your student number and PIN to access the portal.
If you forgot your PIN, click Request a PIN, enter your student number, and check your registered email for the new PIN.
Once logged in, fill in all the required fields.
If you prefer, download the application form from the NMU website, complete it manually, and submit it.
Submit your completed form in person at any of NMU’s four campuses or send it via post to the university.

Documents Required for NMU Re-applications

The following documents must be ready at the time of application and submission:

Grade 11 Year-End Results (if you are still in school), or
Final Grade 12 Results (if you have already completed high school).
Scanned Copy of School Results
Certified Academic Record and Certificate of Conduct – (Transfer student)
Proof of Application Fee Payment (International students).
Certified copy of your identity document
Disability assessment form
Copy of your current residential/home or postal address

Can I please get help on how I apply at NMU when I tried last year but I couldn't finish my application, now when I want to re-apply it says my ID number already has a profile, but I don't remember the password. I would like to ask if it's not possible for the admission office to clear that so can be able to proceed with the application. Thank you
