UCT Application Fee Banking Details For 2025 / Cost and Account Number
The University of Cape Town is situated in the Western Cape region of the Republic of South Africa. The University of Cape Town is the oldest university in South Africa and is one of the leading research universities on the African continent. The UCT application fee consists of two parts: an application fee and a research proposal deposit (for research Masters and PhD applicants only). The application fee is a non-refundable fee.
If you are unable to apply online, you may submit a paper application by printing the forms from the website and sending them to the Admissions Office. This method will incur a late paper application fee. An application cannot be considered without a valid payment. Applicants for admission to the University in 2025 must use the paper UCT application form or apply online. All Research Masters and PhD applicants should apply on the relevant application for admission to postgraduate degree/diploma.
All applications close on the 31st July of the year prior to intended study and research. Late applicants may be charged an additional late application fee. Late applications are not guaranteed consideration.
Ensure that both your application and payment are received by the University of Cape Town (UCT) by the deadline. The act of submitting an application and paying the application fee does not guarantee acceptance or registration as a student. Each applicant will be notified of the outcome of their application via email or SMS. When submitting your application, make sure to include the required application fee of R100 (SA Citizens) and R300 (Non-SA Citizens) (Foreign students).
The University of Cape Town application fee costs R100 for South African applicants and R300 for applicants from the SADC region or the rest of Africa. International applicants from all other countries are required to pay R300. When making payment, please quote your number which you will receive once you have completed your application and created your UCT account.
In the case of reapplicants, please note that person numbers issued in previous application cycles have been nullified and as such, a new person number will be issued on submission of your new application. This new person number must be quoted with all future correspondence and payment. Failure to use the correct person number may lead to application documents and fee payments being misplaced
