The University of Limpopo has officially announced the application deadlines for the 2026 academic year for all the available courses. As spaces are limited, prospective students are strongly encouraged to submit their applications before the deadlines. Early application is highly recommended, as different courses have varying closing dates, which may differ from the general deadline
The University of Limpopo (UL) online application portal, which opened on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, will close at varying times depending on the selected program. Due to the high demand for specific courses, students are strongly encouraged to apply as early as possible. Given UL’s academic excellence and competitive admissions process, it is advisable that students submit their applications immediately after completing their Grade 12 exams or high school.
When to Apply for Admission at UL for 2026
Prospective students looking to enroll at the University of Limpopo for the 2026 academic year should carefully review the application dates and deadlines. It is crucial to remember that late applications will only be considered if space is available in specific programs, and applicants should not depend on this possibility.
On April 1, 2025, the University of Limpopo’s application period formally commenced. Students are urged to submit their applications by the following deadlines in order to guarantee prompt processing:
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB): September 30, 2025
- All Other Undergraduate Programs: October 30, 2025
- Postgraduate Certificate in Education: October 31, 2025
Required Documents for University of Limpopo 2026 Applications (When to Submit)
The following documents must be submitted to University of Limpopo as soon as possible before the application deadline. If any required documents are missing, you must upload them within the application period to avoid jeopardizing your admission.
- South African ID (for South African citizens)
- Proof of English proficiency
- Grade 11 results (with the school’s stamp if you’re in Grade 12)
- Academic transcript (if currently enrolled at another institution)
- USAF accreditation (for international students, issued by the examination board)
- Passport (for international students)
- Guardian/parent’s ID or passport (if under 18 years old)
- National Senior Certificate (for matriculated students)
- Medical aid cover (from South Africa)
- Student Visa (for international students)
- Conditional exemption application (through mbsaf.3.za for foreign or mature-age exemptions)
- Application fee (as required)
How to Upload Documents at UL: Uploading Online Documents Instructions
- Each document must be scanned, saved and uploaded individually against each uploading Certificate code as indicated
- All documents should be scanned in any of the following file types: tiff, pdf, jpg or gif
- The maximum scanned file size is 5MB each.
- Follow the steps below to upload all supporting outstanding documents
- Visit www.ul.ac.za
- Navigate to the Student I-Enabler and select Academic Application
- Click on Certificate Seen
- Choose the type of document you wish to upload
- Click on Load/View Document
- After uploading your document, ensure you click Save to confirm the upload

How to Apply for University of Limpopo 2026
The University of Limpopo invites both new and returning students to apply online via www.ul.ac.za, with a non-refundable application fee. If applicants prefer manual submission, they can download and complete the application form, then submit it along with the same fee at any of the campus locations. Please note that manual applications will not be accepted via post or over the counter.
