Starting April 2nd, 2024, prospective students can apply online through the university’s application portal. The application window closes on June 30th, 2024, so be sure to submit your application before the deadline.

UP Online Application Login

To access the application form of the University of Pretoria (UP), prospective applicants must log into the application portal using their login information. A smart device and a browser are required to access the portal for online applications. Internet Explorer (IE) version 7 or 8 or higher browsers are recommended for online applications for the University of Pretoria (UP).

Most browsers are incompatible with the online application portal, and using them may cause the process to fail or delay. You can begin submitting applications on April 2, 2024. Because the online application portal is mobile phone friendly, you can complete the online application form using a smartphone. When you access the Online Application you will be requested to provide an email address to which UP can send communications.

How to Apply to the University of Pretoria (UP)

The application login or portal of the University of Pretoria (UP) is available on the university’s official website. Visit the official website of UP @ www.up.ac.za using a smart device connected to the internet. The application portal can be found under the “APPLICATIONS” tab on the Menu bar of the home page of the University of Pretoria

A prospective student interested in studying at the University of Pretoria (UP) must apply through the online application system. This means that all supporting documents, as well as the application fee, must be submitted online. You will no longer be able to edit your application via the Online Application system once it has been successfully submitted after you have clicked VERIFY and APPLY.

How to complete the University of Pretoria Online Application For 2025

To complete the application form for the University of Pretoria, follow the guidelines below:

  • STEP 1: Enter the URL of the University of Pretoria’s online Study Application
  • STEP 2: Type the six characters into the Security Code field
  • STEP 3: Click the button Create application ID
  • STEP 4: Once you have received an email from UP containing your Application ID and a temporary password, click the link below to authenticate your details and reset your password.
  • STEP 5: Enter “Application ID” and “Password” received in the automated email, then click on “log in
  • STEP 6: Create your own “new password” which you will easily remember, confirm “new password” and click on “Continue”
  • STEP 7: Password change confirmation screen, click “ok” to go to the Application summary page
  • STEP 8: Click on “edit” to start completing your online application
  • STEP 9: Complete Applicant details from the Application page “Step 1 to 12” starting with “Personal Information” and click “go”.

 

The University of Pretoria Required documents For Online Applications

The following documents must be ready at the time of application and submission:

  • Your year-end Grade 11 marks, or
  • If you have already completed Grade 12, your final Grade 12 results.
  • You will later need to scan the school’s results so that it is available to be uploaded.
  • A certified academic record and a certificate of conduct will need to be scanned and uploaded.
  • Proof of application fee

How to Pay UP Application Fee

Please read through the Credit Card Payments info. Select your payment method and click “verify application”. Banking details (if the credit card is not used): Standard Bank, swift code for internationals SBZAZAJJ, Account No. 012602604, Txxxxxxx number as a reference, amount R270.
