VUT Admission Requirements For 2026 Intake

Each course at VUT has its own specific entry requirements. To assist you, below are the minimum entry requirements for admission into Degree, Diploma and Higher certificate

Bachelor’s Degree: Applicants must have a National Senior Certificate with a Bachelor’s Degree endorsement.
Diploma: Applicants must have a National Senior Certificate with a Diploma endorsement.
Higher Certificate: Applicants must have a National Senior Certificate with a Higher Certificate endorsement.

In addition to the above, you must satisfy the following requirements:

Matric certificate must indicate admission to Diploma
Proof of payment for the application fee of R110
You must have a good Admission Points Score (APS)

Certified copy of Grade 11 or latest Grade 12 report (e.g June examination)

VUT Financial Aid

To be eligible for a loan or bursary, you must first apply for admission to VUT and complete your registration as a student. Loans and academic bursaries at VUT do not cover registration fees or deposits. The outcomes for loans and bursaries will only be released in April or August. As a result, students are required to arrange for payment of the initial fees, including the registration fee and the necessary books, for at least the first quarter of the semester

VUT Accommodation Applications 2026

Vaal University of Technology provides campus housing and residence facilities to new students upon successful course registration. Applications must be submitted online and not directly at the residences.

The closing date for all applications is 31 October 2025. Late applications will not be accepted due to limited space.
To apply for residence, you must indicate on the application form whether you require VUT campus accommodation.
