The 2024 NSFAS is now open, and prospective students should be meeting the various requirements if they are planning and preparing to apply. Each candidate must meet certain conditions, norms, requirements, and criteria in order to be eligible to apply for NSFAS. Any application form that does not adhere to the laydown requirements for the academic year 2024-2025 will be ignored or rejected by NSFAS without hesitation.

NSFAS Application Dates Requirements For 2024

The online NSFAS funding application and registration will be open for the academic year 2024 from September 28, 2023, until January 31, 2024. This indicates that all requested documents, including a fully completed application form, must be submitted electronically to the NSFAS office by the end of January 2024.   • An applicant who has indicated that s/he has no family member details and or abridged birth certificate must complete the Declaration: Non-SASSA

Who is eligible for NSFAS Funding For 2024?

After fulfilling the aforementioned conditions, it is almost acceptable; nonetheless, one of the essential needs, which is necessary and must be met by all applicants, is the eligibility criteria. To be eligible for NSFAS financing for your tertiary institution’s academic year expenses, you must:

  • Be a citizen of South Africa
  • Have a permanent resident in South Africa

  • Be a SASSA grant recipient
  • Be a student with a valid email and cell number
  • Be Fully accepted into a university or college in South Africa
  • Be offered a provisional acceptance letter to study at the university or Tvet College
  • Be Studying or about to study an NSFAS-approved course
  • Being a person with a disability challenged
  • Be a Student who started studying before 2018 and whose household income is not more than R122 000 per annum

What You Need to Apply for NSFAS Bursary 2024

You will need a working phone, a working phone number, and your own email account in order to apply online. This data is required to set up your myNSFAS account, which you will use to submit your application for funding.

 

What are the NSFAS bursary academic requirements?

To be eligible for NSFAS financing to attend a TVET college, you must have completed Grades 9 to 12, and Grade 12 to be eligible for funding to attend a university or TVET college. Before receiving any financing from NSFAS if your application for funding is approved, you must fulfill the university’s or TVET college’s academic admission requirements. Even if you accomplish the other requirements, NSFAS can cancel your benefits if you fail to meet the academic requirements.
