University of the Western Cape is excited to welcome applications for the upcoming 2026 academic year. Prospective students can now access the application form and submit all required materials online. Be sure to complete your application within the official application period to secure your place.

UWC Application Date for 2026

University of the Western Cape is now accepting applications for the 2026 academic intake. All undergraduate and postgraduate applications for local students must be submitted by September 30, 2025, while international applicants have until August 31 2025 to complete their submissions.

Additionally, the deadline for residence applications is September 30. Ensure you meet the deadlines to secure your place at UWC.

Application Requirements For 2026

Yu will need the following documents to apply to the University of the Western Cape

Currently in Grade 12

A certified copy of your ID
Final Grade 11 results

Completed your Grade 12/matric

An affidavit declaring that you have studied at another higher education institution (university or college). If you never enrolled at a university or college since completing high school, this must be declared in the affidavit.
A certified copy of your ID
Your final Grade 12 results

Transfer applicants:

An official academic transcript and a certificate of conduct from your previous college/university
A certified copy of your ID
Final Grade 12 results

How to Apply to UWC

Simple Steps to Apply at the University of the Western Cape

Go to www.uwc.ac.za.
Select Online Applications.
Select and Click on NEW APPLICATIONS
Choose Application Type (undergraduate or postgraduate student).
Choose your Study Mode (full-time or part-time student).
Enter your surname, first names, and email address.
Choose your identification type (South African ID or Foreign Passport).
Provide your South African ID number or passport number if you’re an international applicant.
Choose Your Program Type (Undergraduate or Postgraduate).
If you have previously studied at UWC, enter your student number.
Indicate if you are transferring from another institution.
Verify and confirm the email address you entered.
Accept the terms and conditions of the University of the Western Cape.
Fill in all sections, especially those marked with a “*”.
Upload all supporting documents below:
