Admission Requirements – Sol Plaatje University

Sol Plaatje University (SPU) has established minimum academic requirements for admission into its 2027 programmes. These are primarily based on results obtained in the South African National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations.

Applicants with qualifications from other examination systems will be assessed individually for admission.

Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee acceptance into a programme at SPU. Admission is competitive and depends on:

  • Overall academic performance
  • Availability of space in the selected programme

Generally, the higher your results exceed the minimum requirements, the stronger your chances of admission.

Calculating the SPU Admission Point Score (APS)

SPU uses the Admission Point Score (APS) system to evaluate applicants. Your APS is calculated based on your NSC results and plays a key role in determining your eligibility for admission.
