Prospective students are encouraged to apply as early as possible to secure their place for the 2027 academic year. Applications will be accepted between May to September 2026.

Due to limited intake capacity for 2027, only applicants who meet all the entry requirements and submit their applications within the specified timeframe will be considered for admission.

As previously indicated, all applications must be submitted online. This includes completing the online application form, uploading all required supporting documents, and paying the prescribed application fee.

What are the Required Documents?

Your application must include several supporting documents. Please do not submit original documents; only certified copies should be attached to your manual application form. Copies of documents can be certified at a police station or by a Commissioner of Oaths.

The following certified documents are required:

  • A certified copy of the first page of your Identity Document (ID) or ID card

  • Proof of your highest level of school education (e.g., Grade 12 certificate or latest results)

  • International students must provide a valid study visa and proof of medical insurance covering the full duration of their studies

Ensure that all documents are clear, legible, and properly certified before submission.

Domestic students need a working email address and ID number, while international students need their passport number to complete the online application form for 2027. For hard-copy applications, applicants can download and print it out to complete it with a pen.

Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) Application Fee 

As stated earlier, applicants are strongly encouraged to apply online, as there is no application fee for online submissions.

A non-refundable application fee of R100 is required for manual (hard copy) applications. Applicants must attach proof of payment (receipt) to their application before mailing it to the official postal address.

Please note that any manual application submitted without proof of payment will be automatically rejected.

Kindly ensure that payment is made on or before 30 September 2026 for undergraduate applications, and on or before 14 March 2027 for postgraduate applications, as the 2027 application period will close on these respective dates.

Financial Opportunities for Students at CPUT for 2027

All South African students who are currently enrolled or plan to enroll in any undergraduate courses at Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) in January 2027, and whose family or household annual gross income is not more than R350,000, are eligible to apply for an NSFAS bursary. How to Track CPUT Application Status For 2027

Once you have submitted your application form, you can monitor its progress through CPUT’s online system. Every step of the application process will be displayed on the application dashboard.

The official status checker portal at www.cput.ac.za/status-check will be available from the start of the application cycle until the next one. You can visit the dashboard anytime using your student number and PIN to check your current status for the 2027 academic intake. The final decision will be sent to you via email or SMS.

Follow the steps below to check your CPUT 2027 application status

  • Go to the Status portal at the bottom of this page to track your progress.
  • Once the page has been opened, enter your ID, passport, or asylum number as it appears on your application form.
  • You may also use your student ID (Optional)
  • Finally, fill in your full first name.
  • To check the status, go to the GET MY APPLICATION STATUS tab.

Important Information

The status form only works with the ID number you filled in on your initial application form or with a valid student number.

If you have been conditionally accepted and have been admitted as well, you may still need to submit some documents to finalize your admission
