CPUT NSFAS Bursaries Open For 2024-2025

The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) oversees the public organization known as the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS). It offers eligible students who want to study at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology financial aid in the form of study bursaries. For a variety of benefits, available from 28 September 2023 to 31 January 2024, submit an NSFAS application.

Open Date For CPUT NSFAS 2024

All prospective South African students who are enrolled in or wish to enroll at CPUT may submit an application through the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) beginning on September 28, 2023. Beginning on September 28 of this year and continuing through January 31 of the following, applications for the NSFAS will be accepted online.

CPUT NSFAS Closing Date For 2024-2025

The CPUT NSFAS online applications are anticipated to open on September 28, 2023, and close on January 31, 2024. NSFAS and CPUT will collaborate to offer bursaries or financial aid to deserving but struggling students who are enrolled in or about to enrol in the university for the academic year 2024. It should be noted that CPUT NSFAS applications are only accepted by students pursuing their first undergraduate degree or diploma.

All prospective applicants and students must ensure that their application documents are submitted to NSFAS ahead of the deadline of January 31, 2024, when the application window will end.

CPUT NSFAS Bursary Application Documents Required

All applicants for the CPUT NSFAS bursary must provide the following documents:

  • Copy of ID card or Birth certificate
  • Front and back side of a smart card
  • Copy of Parents/Guardian/spouse ID
  • Proof of income
  • Personal email address and cellphone number

Who Qualifies For CPUT NSFAS Bursary

Students who meet the following criteria are qualified to apply for CPUT NSFAS

  • Only South African citizens and permanent residents.
  • Applicants whose combined gross household income does not exceed R350 000 per annum
  • A student living with disabilities whose combined gross household income  does not exceed R600 000 per annum
  • SASSA grant recipient will automatically be funded by NSFAS
  • Students who started studying before 2018 and whose household income is not more than R122 000 per year.

What does the CPUT NSFAS bursary cover?

Students who are approved for NSFAS funding are covered for the following:

  • Registration fees
  • Tuition fees

CPUT NSFAS students also receive allowances for the following:

  • Food
  • Personal care
  • Learning Material
  • Accommodation or transport

Extra support is provided to students living with disabilities, such as:

  • Medical assessments
  • Assistive devices:
  • Human support

How to Apply for CPUT NSFAS bursary for the academic year 2024-2025

Prospective applicants must follow the processes below to complete the CPUT NSFAS application form online

  • Prospective applicants should create an account
  • The applicant will be sent an OTP to validate the account
  • Applicant will be directed to the APPLY link
  • The applicant must complete all required information
  • The applicant must upload all required documents
  • The applicant will be sent a reference number to confirm the submission
  • The applicant can therefore track and check the application status after submission on the dashboard
