The management of the university has published the list of courses available on the Cape peninsula for the academic year 2024/2025. These courses are available to undergraduate and postgraduate students who meet the faculty requirements and are eligible for admission in 2024. The Prospectus booklet and pamphlets include admission requirements for all CPUT programs, as well as general admission information, qualification structures, and information on where each program is offered. Applied Sciences
As a Faculty, it offers not just undergraduate qualifications but also a rich suite of postgraduate qualifications up to the Doctoral level. The faculty have a strong Research and Innovation ethos and, in order to facilitate and strengthen teamwork and synergies in research among staff, the Faculty has several Research & Innovation entities, including the Agrifood Technology Station; the Centre for Sustainable Oceans, and Research Groups in the areas of Bioresource Engineering (in partnership with the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment); Functional Foods Research; Environmental Chemistry, Toxicology & Remediation; and Crystal Engineering. Business & Management Sciences
The Faculty of Business and Management Sciences is CPUT’s largest faculty. The Faculty of Business and Management Sciences takes pride in its mandate of preparing skilled graduates to participate successfully in South Africa’s economic and business sectors and beyond. It is made up of 16 academic departments and 1 academic unit that offer a diverse range of business qualifications, ranging from paralegal, hospitality, tourism, and sports qualifications to a variety of Management qualifications specific to industry sectors such as retail, marketing, entrepreneurship, and real estate, as well as a number of accounting qualifications. Education
The Faculty is the biggest teacher education provider in the Western Cape, with students from all over the country. At the Mowbray, campus instruction is offered in English, while at the Wellington campus, undergraduate programmes are offered in Afrikaans. As educators, the faculty prides itself on belonging to what is known as a noble profession – a service-oriented profession. The Faculty thrives on paying it forward to learning communities. Engineering & the Built Environment
The Faculty of Engineering & the Built Environment covers a broad range of engineering disciplines, which are currently being reformed to respond to the demands of regional, national and global industry priorities in engineering education. Through a range of multi-disciplinary research institutes and centres, the Faculty aims to integrate its education and research programmes into a cohesive system, providing students with modern technology platforms for relevant and industry-responsive education, with a high degree of work-integrated learning. Health & Wellness Sciences
All of the programmes that are currently presented by the Faculty are unique to CPUT with the exception of undergraduate Nursing Science. There is a significant shortage of skilled personnel for most of the health science disciplines both in the public and private sectors. The programmes in the Faculty are in the family of the applied and allied health sciences and each one of these is not only technologically driven but designed to be responsive to diagnostic and therapeutic health delivery in the most efficient and effective manner.
