CPUT Nursing Minimum Entry Requirements
To gain admission to any of the aforementioned nursing courses at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology for the 2026 academic intake, you must meet the following entry requirements:
Undergraduate:
- Academic Requirements:
- National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) with a D pass (pre-2008 matriculation) or Level 4 pass (post-2008 matriculation)
- APS score of at least 30
- Permission to register for a Bachelor of Nursing Science degree on your Grade 12 certificate
- Pass in the following subjects:
- Home Language
- First Additional Language (English or Afrikaans)
- Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy
- Life Sciences
- Additional Requirements:
- Proof of first completed Hepatitis B vaccination schedule
- South African Nursing Council (SANC) related documents
- Proof of payment to SANC and CPUT
- Proof of indemnity at a professional organization or union
Master’s in Nursing:
- Academic Requirements:
- A relevant Bachelor of Nursing degree at NQF level 8, or BTech degree or equivalent qualification in nursing, with an aggregate of 60%
- Passing grade in Research Methodology
- International Students:
- Qualifications evaluated and equated to a South African qualification at NQF level 8 by the South African Qualifications Authority (if not holding a South African qualification)
- Proof of English language competency (if English is not the official language of your country)
