Application Period for Durban University of Technology (DUT) 

The application period for enrollment at the Durban University of Technology for the 2027 academic year runs from 1 March 2026 to 30 November 2026. This is the official timeframe for submitting your application for consideration.

Application Fees for Durban University of Technology (DUT)

For the 2027 admission cycle, the Durban University of Technology requires all applicants to pay a non-refundable application fee. The fee varies depending on your citizenship status:

  • R250 for South African applicants

  • R300 for international applicants

Reapplying After a Previous Rejection

If you were not accepted into a programme previously, you will generally need to submit a new application to be considered again. For example, applicants who applied to the Durban University of Technology for the 2026 intake but were unsuccessful must submit a fresh application for the same intake through the Central Applications Office (CAO) to be considered.

Mode of Application

  • Students transferring from other universities should submit an original academic record and a certificate of good conduct

  • A valid passport
  • Proof of application fee

Uploading Supporting Documents

The Durban University of Technology (DUT) online application system will prompt you to upload supporting documents after you’ve finished filling out the application.  Make sure to upload the correct document for each designated certificate code. Here’s a step-by-step guide to uploading all your outstanding documents:

  • Go to www.cao.ac.za, the Central Applications Office’s website.
  • On the Home Page, click the ‘Upload My Document’ icon.
  • Read the instructions to find out what you need to ‘login to upload your documents’.
  • Once logged in, follow the instructions to upload your documents and, if applicable, enter your examination results.
  • Check to ensure that you have uploaded the correct documents and entered the correct results, as needed.
  • When you’re ready, click the ‘Submit My Documents’ button.

How to Confirm Your Online Application Submission to DUT

After submitting your application to the Durban University of Technology (DUT), you should receive a confirmation email or SMS with details about your application. Be sure to check your junk mail folder in case the notification lands there.
