DUT Online Application 2027: Apply Now via CAO
DUT open for 2027 applications — the Durban University of Technology has officially commenced its 2027 admission cycle. Prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students are invited to submit their applications through the designated application portal. If you are planning to further your studies at DUT, now is the time to begin the process and secure your place for the 2027 academic year.
Application Dates
Applications for the 2027 academic year at the Durban University of Technology are open to all prospective students, irrespective of nationality or language background. The official application window runs from 1 March to 31 October 2026.
Applicants must ensure that all required documents and supporting materials are submitted within this period. Failure to apply before the deadline will result in missing the opportunity to enroll for the 2027 academic year.
How to Apply
All prospective undergraduate applicants — including those applying for a Diploma, Higher Certificate, Bachelor’s Degree, Honours, or Postgraduate Diploma — must submit their applications through the Central Applications Office (CAO) for consideration.
The Central Applications Office receives applications and the required application fee on behalf of the Durban University of Technology. The CAO processes the submissions and forwards shortlisted candidates, based on programme requirements, to DUT for final selection and admission decisions.

Application Fees
To have your application processed by the Central Applications Office (CAO), you are required to pay a non-refundable fee.
- Domestic Students (South Africa): R250
- International Students: R300
Please Note: These are the standard “on-time” fees. If you apply from November 1, a late application fee of R470 for domestic or R580 for international students will apply.
How to Pay
You have two main options to settle your fee. In both cases, ensure you use your CAO Number as your unique payment reference.
Option 1: Online Payment
Visit the CAO website, navigate to the “Payments” section, and pay via credit card, debit card, or secure EFT. Your application will move to “processed” status much faster this way.
Option 2: Bank Deposit or EFT
You can pay at any Absa Bank branch or via your banking app using these details:
- Account Name: Central Applications Office
- Account Number: 406 390 1819
- Branch Code: 632 005
- Reference: Your CAO Number
Vital Deadlines
All payments must be made within the application deadlines. Even if you submit your forms online, the CAO will not send your details to DUT until the full payment has cleared in their account. Since bank transfers can take 2–3 business days, it is best to pay at least a week before your course’s closing date.
Tracking Your Status
After 24–48 hours (to allow for payment clearing), your application will be sent to the institutions. You can track progress by clicking ‘Check My Application‘ on the CAO website.
Common status meanings:
-
Waiting for a Decision: The institution hasn’t reviewed your application yet.
-
Conditional Offer: You are accepted provided you maintain your grades or meet specific final requirements.
-
Firm Offer: You have been officially accepted into the program.
