NWU 2026 Admission Dates
The North-West University (NWU)’s online application portal for the 2026 academic year will be open for both undergraduate and postgraduate applications from April 1 to August 31, 2025. However, applicants for programs under the selection courses must ensure that all required documents, including proof of application fee payment, are submitted by June 30, 2025.

Requirements to Apply at NWU for 2026
Before applying online to the North-West University for the 2026 academic year, take note of the following:
- Reliable internet access: A stable internet connection is crucial for completing the online application process.
- Valid personal email address: If you don’t have an email account, create one before applying. All application-related communication will be sent to this address.
- Latest academic transcripts: Have your latest school results readily available for upload during the application process.
- No Grade 12 March results: The university does not require Grade 12 March results for applications.
- Valid identification: Provide either your South African ID number or passport number for identification purposes.
Application Materials Required

- Results from grades 12 and 11 (final results only) Alternatively, if you have previously passed matric, a copy of your matric certificate.
- A photocopy of your ID
- A copy of your transcripts (if applicable).
- Applicants who are currently enhancing their grade 12 results will be evaluated only after the NWU receives the improved results.
- Applicants who pursue the Cambridge, GED, or any other non-NSC curriculum, or who may be eligible for an exemption due to older age or post-school qualifications, must present a USAF exemption certificate.
- Completed undertaking
- Additional documents for international prospective students:
- A copy of relevant results
- A copy of your passport
Application fees:
- Online applications comes with a cost of R575 which must be paid by all prospective students.
- All applications to the North-West University must be submitted online. Applicants must complete the application process, upload all necessary supporting documents, make the required payment, and provide proof of payment through www.nwu.ac.za before the deadline.
Important Note:
- The application fee is non-refundable and must be paid by the application deadline. Late payments will be considered for late admissions and will not be considered for the 2026 academic year.
