The University of Pretoria (UP) is now accepting applications for the 2026 academic year, with the application form available for both new and returning applicants. Those interested in studying at UP can either begin a fresh application or resume an existing one if it remains open. Before starting the application process, applicants are strongly advised to ensure they meet the program’s specific entry requirements.
The online application portal for the 2026 academic year opens on April 1, 2025, and remains available until June 2025. However, the exact closing date varies depending on the course applicants wish to pursue. It is important to submit applications and supporting documents before the respective deadline to ensure consideration for admission.
Number of UP Applications Required
The University of Pretoria’s online application system permits only one submission per applicant. While you can make changes and work on your application until the deadline, no further edits will be allowed once the submission period ends. All applicants, including new and reapplying students, must submit a fresh application for the 2026 academic year.
Upon successful completion of your application before the deadline, you will receive an email containing your allocated student number (EMPLID) and further instructions. This email will detail how to access the student portal to track your application progress and view results.
