Durban University of Technology (DUT) is still accepting applications for the 2026 academic year, with the deadline extended to November 30, 2025. This will be the final day for online submissions before the selection process begins.

When to Pay DUT/CAO Application Fee For 2026

When applying for admission to Durban University of Technology (DUT) through the CAO office, an application fee is required. Please note that this fee is non-refundable if you are not accepted. Failure to pay the application fee will render your application invalid. You must submit the application forms along with proof of payment before the late application period ends.

South African applicants must pay an application fee of R250, while international applicants are required to pay R300. These fees apply only if you submit your application within this period.

The University of Technology (DUT) Application Requirements For 2026

Although the application deadline has been extended, we strongly encourage you to apply and submit all required documents as soon as possible. The following documents must be submitted to the Durban University of Technology (DUT) admission office by the deadline, either online or by mail, depending on the program you are applying for:

How to Apply online at DUT

You must submit your application through the CAO office as soon as possible because the application period is limited. Because the application window at the Durban University of Technology (DUT) is still open for 2026, apply now by following the instructions below. Do not wait any longer; now is the time to apply for a good course at the Durban University of Technology (DUT) for the 2026 admission year.

Apply for CAO Number

  • Go to the official website, cao.ac.za, and click “Apply.” After reading the information, click ” Continue with Application.”
  • After you’ve entered your ID number, click “Submit.”
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and then click “Continue with Application.”
  • Fill in ALL of the required information first.
  • Once you’ve completed all of the required fields, click “Next.” It is necessary to click “Continue with Online Application.”
  • Your CAO number, password, and EasyPay number will be visible and known in a pop-up window.

Perform the academic registration

  • It is necessary to click “Continue with Online Application.”
  • After thoroughly reading the instructions and providing ALL required information, click “Next.”
  • Click “Next” after filling out the “Next of Kin” information.
  • When the name of the school appears in a box, enter the dates of your initial enrollment and graduation before clicking “Search.” Repeat this process until all of the required fields are filled.
  • To proceed, click “Next.”
  • Now that your application has been submitted, click the button that says “process my application.”
  • A notification will appear on your screen if your submission was successful.
  • You can now pay online and upload supporting documentation.
  • Submit the forms for approval.
