Is UCT Still Open For Applications For 2024-2025

The University of Cape Town is still accepting applications for the academic year 2024-2025. Any prospective applicant who has yet to apply for admission to UCT for the academic year 2024-2025 can do so now because the application window remains open until 31 October 2023. The application period, which began on April 1, 2023, will end in October 2023, when the university will close all applications and begin the selection process. You can still apply to study at the University of Cape Town because the deadline has been extended to October 31 2023.

Application Closing Dates for 2024-2025 at UCT

All undergraduate course applications at the University of Cape Town will close on July 31, 2023, while postgraduate course applications will close on October 31, 2023. Late applications for undergraduate courses will be accepted in February 2024 if there are still spaces available. Because late applications are not guaranteed, it is preferable to apply now. UCT Closing Date for Application Fee payment for 2024-2025

South African and SADC applicants must pay an R100 non-refundable application fee. International applicants must pay an application fee of R300. Application fees will not be refunded under any circumstances. Anyone who applies manually or electronically and does not pay the application fee by the deadlines will have their application form rejected. Following payment, you must attach payment proof to the other supporting documents and submit them before the course deadline. Applications received after the deadline (31 July 2023 & 31 October 2023) will be rejected.

How to Pay

Cash payment:

  • Cash payments must be made at the cashier’s Office, Kramer Building, Middle Campus, UCT. You must upload or attach the receipt to the forms as proof of payment.

Debit and Credit card payment:

This method necessitates the applicant to make the payment online. Submit the credit card information, including the CVV number. In the required address field, enter the exact residential address on the bank account. Pay Now

EFT Payment:

Document submission and upload deadlines

Despite the fact that the deadline has been extended until 31 October 2023, we encourage you to apply and submit all documents as soon as possible. The following documents must be received by the UCT admission office by the deadline, either online or by mail, depending on the qualification for which you wish to apply.

Undergraduate

  • A copy of your examination results from Grade 11 until September of grade 12 must be submitted.
  • Passport or ID
  • Proof of payment for the application fee
  • Transferring students should submit all transcripts and academic records

Postgraduate

  • Certified paper copies of documents uploaded online as part of your application
  • Academic transcripts which may not have been available at the time of your application must be uploaded to our
  • student system; please log in using your username and password, and complete the submission; certified paper copies of such uploaded documents must be submitted
  • Where applicable, evidence of English language proficiency must be provided
  • V., indicating work experience (if any, give name(s) of the employer(s), period(s) of employment (e.g. 2019-2023) and primary area of responsibility
  • Research outline and/or motivation of specified length
  • Referees’ names and contact details (two referees will be required)

How to Apply online at UCT

You must submit your application as soon as possible because the application period is limited. Because the application window at UCT is still open, apply now by following the instructions below. Do not wait any longer; now is the time to apply for a good course at UCT for the 2024 admission year.

  • You can also fill out a paper application form.
  • Ensure you pay your application fee before you submit your forms
  • Upload the necessary documents after they have been scanned and certified.
  • Documents must be submitted as certified electronic copies to admissions-ug@uct.ac.za (undergraduate applicants) or admissions-pg@uct.ac.za (postgraduate applicants).
  • Please do not send your submissions to both email addresses as this will only delay the processing of your application.
  • UCT is not permitted to disclose your application status telephonically so visit the application portal to monitor your status.

UCT Manual Applications

Contact the Admissions Office for an application form or download one from the university’s website at http://www.students.uct.ac.za/students/applications/apply/forms to apply manually or on paper. You must only submit one application.

If you apply on paper and do not have an email address, UCT will write to you to acknowledge receipt and ask you to check the data it has captured from your form. Your application will be forwarded to the faculty member for whom you applied, and all updates/decisions will be sent to the email address you provided.
