MUT 2026: Key Application Timelines You Need to Know

Mangosuthu University of Technology has officially opened applications for the 2026 academic year, beginning on Saturday, March 1, 2025. This opportunity is available to all prospective students, regardless of nationality, qualification level, or language proficiency.

Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT) is one of the institutions that uses the Central Applications Office (CAO) to process applications. When applying through CAO, it’s important to note that CAO prioritizes students who meet the specific program’s admission requirements, as well as those who have selected MUT as their first choice and submitted their applications on time. Therefore, it’s crucial to apply as early as possible to increase your chances of acceptance.

How to Apply at MUT Online for Admission 2026

All first-time or fresh students applying for undergraduate or postgraduate studies at Mangosuthu University of Technology must submit their online applications through the Central Applications Office (CAO) at www.cao.ac.za by following the necessary steps.

Click on “Apply” to start the application process.
Read the details and click “Continue with Application.”
Enter your ID number and click ‘Submit.’
Scroll down and click “Continue with Application” at the bottom of the page.
Fill in all required information and click “Next.”
Review your CAO number, password, and EasyPay number. Read the guidelines, then click “Continue with Online Application.”
Complete all necessary details and click “Next.”
Enter your Next of Kin details, then click “Next.”
Provide your school details, including enrollment and graduation years, and click “Search.”
Review your information and click “Next.”
When satisfied with your application, click “Process My Application.”
Upload documents: The following documents are required for your application to Mangosuthu University of Technology
- Proof of payment for the application fee
- Grade 11 final results
- Grade 12 June exam results
- National Senior Certificate or Statement of Results
- Identity Document (ID card) or a valid passport
- An academic record and certificate of conduct
- A valid medical insurance cover
- Police clearance certificate
- SGCE, GCE, GCSE, IGCSE, or Cambridge School Certificate
After successful submission, you’ll receive a confirmation notification.
Proceed to pay online via credit card or use EasyPay for payment.

NOTE:

Your MUT online application will only be submitted once you have:

Fully completed the online application form

Uploaded all required supporting documents in .pdf format

Paid the application fee: R300 for international students or R250 for South African students

Please note that if you haven’t clicked “APPLY,” your application will not be submitted.
