The University of Mpumalanga (UMP) is inviting applications from all prospective applicants writing their final exams in their respective second-cycle schools who intend to further their education. The application cycle opens on June 1, 2024, at midnight.
UMP offers a wide range of undergraduate, certificate, and diploma programs that are relevant to today’s world. For postgraduate students, the university also offers master’s and doctorate programs.

When to Apply at University of Mpumalanga (UMP) For 2025
The University of Mpumalanga is currently accepting applications for undergraduate programs until November 30th, 2024. Apply early to be considered for the 2025 academic year. Applications for postgraduate programs (Honours, Advanced Diplomas, Postgraduate Diplomas, Masters, and Doctoral) closed on January 30th, 2025. The selection committee will assess all applications received by the deadlines.

The University of Mpumalanga (UMP) has application deadlines depending on your desired program. Make sure to submit all required documents by the following deadlines to be considered for admission:
- Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase Teaching: September 30, 2024
- All other Undergraduate Programs, Honours Programs, Advanced Diplomas, and Postgraduate Diplomas: November 30, 2024
- Masters Programs and Doctoral Programs: January 30, 2025
Applications received after these dates will be considered late and unfortunately cannot be accepted

The application deadlines for the University of Mpumalanga (UMP) are the deadlines for submitting all application materials, not just the application fee payment. Unfortunately, there isn’t a separate deadline for fee payment.
If you submit your application by the deadline, then you’ll have the opportunity to pay the application fee as part of the online application process.
It’s important to submit your application well before the deadline to ensure everything is complete and avoid any last-minute issues.

Degree Study Requirements at the University of Mpumalanga (UMP)
- At least 40% Home Language proficiency.
- 50% for four other subjects, excluding Life Orientation.
- 30% for one other subject.
- 30% in Language of Learning and Teaching (LOLT) of the intended Higher Education Institution.
- Pass at least 6 out of 7 subjects.
- NSC Degree as an entry requirement in Programme Choice List.

- Select “Apply Now.”
- Put in your ID number.
- Accept the application guidelines.
- Capture personal details.
- Key in your educational background.
- Add subjects
- Key in your academic results.
- Choose a study course.
- Click Next to proceed to the next stage
- Check the application’s details.
- Create a profile.
- Make a five-digit PIN.
- Check the box to accept it.
- Send application.
- Upload supporting documents
- Save documents after uploading them.
- Once the applications are submitted, select “complete upload.”
- Verify that the application was completed and submitted accurately
