Apply for late admission to the 2025 academic year through the South African University online application platform! This site is for those ready to apply to universities still accepting late applications for selected undergraduate, honours, and postgraduate diploma programs for the 2025 academic intake. It provides details on application requirements and deadlines to help guide you through the late application process.
Important Dates for Late Applications
Late applications for 2025 will be accepted from Friday, November 1, 2024, through Friday, January 31, 2025. Make sure you submit your application by the deadline. After submission, it may take up to three weeks to hear feedback. You will be admitted if you match the requirements and there is space available in the course.
Minimum Requirements to Apply
To qualify for late applications, applicants must meet the following academic criteria:
- Home Language: Minimum 40%
- Four other subjects (excluding Life Orientation): Minimum 50%
- One additional subject: Minimum 30%
- Language of Learning and Teaching (LOLT): Minimum 30%
- Pass at least 6 out of 7 subjects
Required Application Documents
For Post-Matric Learners:
- Certified copy of your NSC or Senior Certificate
- Certified copy of your ID
- Academic records, if applicable
- Proof of current NSC result improvements (if applicable)
- An affidavit describing post-matric activities
- Combined Grade 12 results if re-writing subjects
For Transfer Students:
Certified copies of:
- NSC or Senior Certificate
- ID
- Good conduct certificate from your current institution
- Official Academic Transcript
- Module content/yearbook descriptor for completed courses
- Degree certificate, if applicable
For International Students:
- Final school results evaluated by Universities in South Africa (USAf)
- Certified copy of your passport
For Postgraduate Students:
Certified copies of:
- ID (all applicants)
- Passport (international applicants)
- Degree certificates (all applicants)
- Official Academic Transcripts
- SAQA Evaluation Certificate (international applicants)
- CV (all applicants)
- Motivation letter (all applicants)
- Research intention (Master’s and Doctoral applicants)
Note: Applications without the required documents and fees will not be processed.
Application Fees
A non-refundable application fee is required. Typical charges are:
- South African applicants: R210
- International SADC and Africa: R490
- Other international applicants: $530
