UCT Application Dates For 2026

To increase your chances of securing a spot in your desired program at the University of Cape Town, it is essential to apply early, as priority is given to applicants who submit their applications sooner. Applications for the 2026 academic year will open on Tuesday, 1 April 2025, and close on Thursday, 31 July 2025. Please note that UCT will not consider any applications received after the deadline.

How to Apply to UCT Online for Admission 2026

To submit an application, prospective applicants must follow the steps outlined below. Each step is mandatory and must be completed without exception. Ensure that you follow all the instructions carefully when applying to the University of Cape Town:

• Select Online Applications.
• Agree to POPI Act
• Click the “Next Button” to proceed.
• List all relatives and payment-responsible parties’ full names.
• Enter your address and phone number.
• Select your qualification type (e.g., undergraduate or postgraduate).
• Enter your last school leaving certificate number and matriculation/Grade 12 year.
• Fill in all required fields, including personal and academic details.
• Enter the name of your most recent high school.
• Choose at least 3 study courses.
• Upload all supporting documents.
• Double-check all entered details for accuracy.
• Confirm accuracy and submit your application.
• Pay the non-refundable application fee and upload proof of payment.

CUT 2026 Admission Requirements

To be considered for admission at the Central University of Technology (CUT), you must meet the following requirements, in addition to the availability of space:

Diploma:

• • The minimum requirement for admission to undergraduate diploma study is a National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by Umalusi with an achievement rating of 3 (Moderate Achievement, 40-49%) or better in 4 recognised NSC 20-credit subjects
• Degree
  • Applicants holding a South African National Senior Certificate (NSC) need to pass a minimum of 4 subjects at a rating of 4 (Adequate Achievement, 50-59%) or better in any four 20-credit NSC subjects.
  • Applicants holding a South African Senior Certificate need matriculation endorsement.
