The University of the Western Cape (UWC) has officially opened its online registration for the 2026 academic year for all first-time and returning students. Students who have already received their admission letters are invited to complete their online registration and formally enrol to study at the University for the 2026 academic intake.

UWC online registration is currently open. All new first-time entry students must register by 22 January 2026 to secure their place, as failure to do so may result in delayed registration or loss of admission.

Late Registration

How to Register Online at UWC
Registration is completed via the UWC Student Portal only. To complete your UWC online registration:
- Visit the UWC Student Portal
- Log in using your student number and South African ID or passport number
- Select and validate your modules (failed, compulsory, and elective modules where applicable)
- Review your study fees and confirm your module costs
- Accept the terms and conditions to finalize registration
Once registration is successful, a confirmation letter will be emailed to your UWC student email account.
Registration Fees and How to Pay
- An upfront payment of R4,290 is required for most students
- This includes the registration fee and the first tuition installment
- NSFAS-funded students and students pre-approved for the Government Grant (household income below R350,000) do not need to pay the upfront registration fee, subject to confirmation
How to Pay: Students can make payments through the online payment system available on the student portal.
