The Vaal University of Technology (VUT) has officially opened the 2026 application season as of April 1, 2025. Prospective students can now access the application form and all necessary materials online. To secure your spot, be sure to complete your application within the designated application period.

STEP 1:

• Read thoroughly and ensure you pay the application fee to the correct VUT account.
• Read the declaration document (POPI Act) and click “accept” at the bottom to proceed.

STEP 2:

• Complete your biographical information on the provided page.

STEP 3:

• Fill in your next of kin (parent/guardian) and account contact person details.

STEP 4:

• Enter the correct qualification level and provide your results details.
  • Undergraduate Qualifications: Choose “Diploma” for first-time students or upgrades, “Advanced Diploma” for those who have completed a Diploma.
  • Post-Graduate Qualifications: Ensure you enter all your school-leaving details.

STEP 5:

• Complete your first-choice course selection.
• Afterward, you will be redirected to select your second choice.

STEP 6:

• Review all the information you have entered to ensure it’s correct.

STEP 7:

• Read the rules thoroughly and accept them at the bottom.

STEP 8:

• Upload the required documents as listed.

STEP 9:

• After completing the process, you will receive your student number. Make sure to note it down and exit.

STEP 10: Final:

• After exiting the application page, you will receive an email with instructions on how to finalize your application.
• Click the link in the email, enter your student number and 5-digit pin, and go to “Student Enquiry.”
• Choose “Student Statement View and Email.”
• You will be prompted to accept or reject the offer. Remember, the offer has an expiry date. Save after each decision.
• If you decline the offer, provide a reason in the designated block.
• After saving your final decision, log out and check your application status on the VUT website via the “self-check” option.

The Vaal University of Technology has announced that applications for the 2026 academic year will open on April 1, 2025, and are available to all prospective students, both local and international. Applications must be submitted online by the following deadlines:

• Academic: SA Citizens 30 September
• Residences: SA Citizens 31 October
