When Will The NSFAS Online Application For 2025 Be Open?

NSFAS Online Application Dates for 2025

Documents Required for NSFAS Online Application (Online or Manual)

• A photocopy of your South African identification document or card
• To replace ID documents, a student under the age of 18 must have a birth certificate.
• a copy of your highest academic degree
• A fully completed consent form signed by those on the forms who matter
• Download and complete the DISABILITY ANNEXURE A form if you are a student with a disability.
• NSFAS will require your parents’ or guardians’ ID cards.
• If your parents have died, please provide a death certificate.
• At least three of your relatives should serve as witnesses. NSFAS will need their ID cards.
• Students who are working at the time of application must provide proof of annual income. This could be your pay stub, bank statement, or other documents showing how much you earn per year.

Other Requirements for NSFAS Online Application

Criteria for Eligibility

In order to be eligible for Nsfas funding in 2024, you must be:

• A South African national
• The recipient of a SASSA grant
• An applicant with a combined household income of less than R350 000 per year
• A physically challenged student with an annual household income of no more than R600,000
• A student who began studying prior to 2018 and whose household income is less than R122 000 per year

 

PLEASE NOTE: To receive NSFAS funding to study at a TVET college, you must have completed Grades 9 to 12, and Grade 12 to study at a university or TVET college.
