How to Apply to Nelson Mandela University Online for Admission in 2027

- Click on the Online Applications
- Complete Section 1 (basic background information) and click “Apply.”
- This does not mean your application is complete or that you are considered for admission yet.
- You will receive an email to verify your email address.
- If you do not receive it, check your spam folder before contacting the university.
- Once your email is verified, you will receive another email with a link to Section 2.
- The email will also include your student number and PIN.
- Click the link, enter your student number and PIN to continue.
- Fill in all red-highlighted fields (compulsory).
- Yellow-highlighted fields are optional.
- Green-highlighted fields require no action.
- Attach all required supporting documents in PDF or JPEG format.
- You can also upload documents on the admissions dashboard after submitting your application.
- Click “Final Submission” at the bottom of the page.
- No changes can be made after submission.
Nelson Mandela University Admission Requirements
You’ll only be considered when you satisfy the following minimum requirements:
Undergraduate Applicants:

National Senior Certificate (NSC): Pass the NSC with a minimum of 30% in the university’s language of instruction and meet any additional program-specific requirements.

Higher Certificate: Same as NSC requirements.

Diploma: Pass the NSC with a minimum of 30% in the university’s language of instruction and achieve a mark of 40% or better in four 20-credit NSC subjects, along with any additional program-specific requirements.

Bachelor’s Degree: Pass the NSC with a minimum of 30% in the university’s language of instruction, achieve a mark of 50% or better in four 20-credit NSC subjects, and meet any additional program-specific requirements.
National Benchmark Test (NBT):
Most Nelson Mandela University programs do not require the NBT. However, a small number of programs do. Check the specific requirements of your chosen program to see if the NBT is mandatory. Visit the NBT website (https://www.nbt.ac.za/) to schedule a test if needed.
