Applications, registration, and enrollment at Rhodes University will open on April 1, 2026. You have until September 30, 2026, to complete all required documents and submit them. If you miss the deadline, you will have to wait for the next application window.
Who Can Register at Rhodes University
The Rhodes University 2027 application and registration process is open to individuals who do not yet have a university student number and wish to begin a new qualification.
Applicants must meet the required academic entry requirements, complete the application form, upload all supporting documents, and pay a non-refundable application fee. Successful completion of these steps will qualify applicants for consideration for admission in 2027.

You can apply online through the system at www.ross.ru.ac.za by registering with your email address and creating a password. Alternatively, you may download the application form and complete it manually.

What You Need to Know
- Manual, posted, or over-the-counter applications will not be accepted.
- You are limited to three programme choices per application.
- An APS score is required to secure admission.

- Do not submit forms to anyone claiming to be a representative of Rhodes University. Only documents submitted by post or hand-delivered to the Admissions Office will be accepted.

Rhodes University 2027 Application Fee
All Rhodes University 2027 applications must be accompanied by proof of payment of the non-refundable and non-transferable fee of R100, regardless of your country or level of qualification.
Payment can be made online or directly through the bank account.

You are to score the following Average Score Points in order to gain admission to study at Rhodes University
Commerce:
- Required Subject: Mathematics
- APS = 45+
Education
- Required Subject: Two languages at level 4 (50 – 59%) Maths or level 4 (50% – 59%) or Maths Lit. level 3 (40-49%)
- APS = 40+
Humanities
Required Subject:
- English Home Language 65% and above
- English First Additional Language 70% and above
- APS = 45+
Pharmacy
- Required Subject: Mathematics, Life and Physical Sciences 65% and above
- APS = 45
Science
- Required Subject: Mathematics, Physical Science or Life Science

Law
Required Subject:
- English Home Language 60% and above
- English First Additional Language 70% and above
- Mathematics 50% and above
- Mathematics Literacy 60% and above
Rhodes University Admission Requirements
Your application will be considered for admission to Rhodes University only if you meet the requirements for Bachelor’s degree study and satisfy the specific faculty requirements.
To qualify for a Bachelor’s pass, learners must complete seven subjects:
- Four compulsory subjects: two languages, Life Orientation, and either Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy.
- Three elective subjects of the learner’s choice from those offered at the school.
NATIONAL BENCHMARK TESTS (NBTS)
It is recommended that all first-time university-entering South African applicants write the NBT’s. If the applicant does not meet the automatic entry requirements the NBT results will form part of the Dean’s decision-making on applications. These test results can also be used if a candidate does not meet the entrance requirements in their final examinations.
