Nelson Mandela University has officially opened applications for the 2026 academic year. The application period runs from April 1, 2025, to September 30, 2025, for available courses. Prospective students are required to submit their applications along with proof of payment for the mandatory application fee.

The application fee for the 2026 academic year has been announced by NMU. Prospective students must pay the required fee, which is standardized regardless of the program of study. Payments can be made online or at any NMU campus.
Does NMU Require An Application Fee
Nelson Mandela University provides free online applications for South African citizens, allowing them to submit their forms electronically without any charges.
However, international applicants are required to pay a non-refundable application fee and must include a copy of the payment receipt with their submission. The university only requires a scanned or photocopied version, not the original receipt.

- South African Applicants: No application fee when applying online.
- International Applicants: Must pay a non-refundable R500 application fee and submit a copy of the payment receipt with their application.
