North-West University (NWU) is now accepting applications from prospective students, applicants, and employees interested in courses offered on NWU campuses for the academic year 2025-2026. You can begin your application by completing the online forms, which are still available as of April 1, 2024. North-West University’s (NWU) application window for the academic year 2025-2026 is meant to accept and accommodate qualified and interested students who wish to join North-West University for their undergraduate and postgraduate studies.

Application Dates for North-West University (NWU) in 2025-2026

The online application form, which includes a PDF version, will be available on the North-West University (NWU) official website on April 1, 2024. Except for a few selection courses, which will close on August 31, 2024, all North-West University applications will officially close and end on June 30, 2024. To be considered for the 2025-2026 academic intake, you need to submit all application documents between April 1 and August 31, 2024.

Application Fee for North-West University (NWU) in 2025-2026

North-West University (NWU) only accepts online applications, which are subject to a fee. If you are applying from outside of South Africa, you must pay a non-refundable application fee of R550. Use your student/ID number as a reference when making a payment. You are strongly advised to pay before the deadline because it will be impossible to pay your application after the deadline.

You will need the following documents to apply to North-West University (NWU) online:

Undergrad. Documents Required

Grade 12 results, grade 11 results (final results only) or a copy of your matric certificate – if you have already passed matric.
Applicants who are currently upgrading their grade 12 results, will only be considered after the improved results are presented to the NWU.
Applicants who follow Cambridge, GED or any other non-NSC curriculum, or who may qualify for exemption based on advanced age or post-school qualifications, must provide an exemption certificate as issued by USAF.

To apply to North-West University (NWU), simply go to www.nwu.ac.za and take these actions.

To assist you in the application process, you can download and complete the documents before starting the process.
Go to the online application platform at www.nwu.ac.za
Click on New application
Click on Create new student number and complete all the fields. Please note that it is illegal to use any ID number than your own when you create an NWU student number
When you receive a student number, use that together with the PIN number you created to log in
Complete all the fields. Use the yearbooks to obtain more information about the qualifications, modes of delivery and curricula
Upload supporting documents as listed above
Please make sure that you press the Submit Application button when you have finished ensuring that we receive your application.

The allocation of a student number does not mean that you have completed the application process. Please go through all the steps above to ensure your application is complete and reaches NWU. Incomplete applications will not be processed by the University.
