Who can apply For NSFAS 2024 Second Semester?
NSFAS funding is open to all South African citizens or permanent residents who meet the following criteria:
- No one shall have an aggregate total household income of more than R350 000 per year.
- Students with impairments should not have a combined total family income that is greater than R600,000.
- Financial eligibility is automatic for SASSA recipients.
- Email and a mobile number are required.
- Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree or diploma at the undergraduate level.
- Must be taking a course that has been approved by NSFAS.
- NSFAS does not fund short or online courses.
- If you are already an NSFAS beneficiary, you must reapply for funding each year to continue receiving support.
What Documents Are Needed to Apply For NSFAS Semester 2
You must submit a number of supporting documents with your NSFAS application for the second semester of the academic year 2024. These documents could include:
- A smart card, which must have both sides of the card;
- A certified copy of the student’s ID or birth certificate;
- A certified copy of the parent(s), guardian(s), or spouse’s ID;
- Evidence of income, if applicable
- An applicant who has been identified by the Department of Social Development as a vulnerable child must submit a completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration form, which must be completed by a social worker.
- An applicant who has indicated that s/he has no family member information and/or an incomplete birth certificate must complete the Declaration: Non-SASSA

How to Apply for NSFAS 2024 Funding
In 2024, there will be an online application process for NSFAS semester 2. Here is a step-by-step manual to assist you:
- Go to the NSFAS website at www.nsfas.org.za.
- By entering your email address and a strong password, you may create a myNSFAS account.
- Choose and press the APPLY NOW tab.
- Fill out the application form with the necessary personal and academic data. Make sure to confirm the accuracy of all the information.
- If necessary, you can change your personal information.
- Scan and upload each of the previously listed necessary documents. Make sure they are legible and clear.

When to expect NSFAS Fund for the second semester of 2024?
