Sol Plaatje University 2027 Application Opening Date

The Sol Plaatje University (SPU) in South Africa is inviting all qualified and interested students who wish to further their studies in 2027 to visit the online application portal and apply for their preferred programmes. The portal is now active, so ensure your applications are completed and submitted before the deadline.

When SPU 2027 Application Opens

Sol Plaatje University has confirmed that Wednesday, 1 April 2026 will be the official opening date for 2027 applications. This applies to all prospective students, regardless of country or language.

Late applications will not be accepted, so make sure you submit all required documents before 30 September 2026

Limited Space: SPU can only accommodate a limited number of students for each programme. Applications submitted within the timeframe will be given priority.
Competition: Thousands of applicants apply for competitive programmes, often submitting their applications very early.

Apply at Sol Plaatje University 2027

You are required to apply for an SPU academic programme and residence. Submit one application for the 2027 academic year, selecting at least 3 study programmes of your choice.

How to Apply to SPU Online

Follow the steps below:

Go to www.spu.ac.za, the official SPU website.
Click on the STUDY@SPU icon.
Select “Apply Online.”
Create an account by providing your ID and password.
Log in to the application portal using your ID number.
Read and accept the rules and regulations.
Select your qualification from the drop-down menu or type it in to view available programs.
Save and continue after selecting your course.
Complete all required fields in the application form.
Accept the rules once again.
Click on Submit to finalize your application.
Upload all required supporting documents as seen below.
- A certified copy of your ID
- Final Grade 11 results
- An affidavit declaring that you have studied at another higher education institution (university or college). If you never enrolled at a university or college since completing high school, this must be declared in the affidavit.
- An official academic transcript and a certificate of conduct from your previous college/university
- Final Grade 12 results
SPU will send an email confirmation upon receiving your application.
Your acknowledgment letter will contain a student number and the contact details of an Admissions Consultant for any queries

Follow the steps below to track your SPU 2027 application:

Go to the online application dashboard.
Enter your student ID.
Click on “Check Status”.
Your application status will be displayed.
