Stellenbosch University 2027 Undergraduate Applications
Stellenbosch University invites prospective undergraduate students who wish to pursue their studies in 2027 after completing Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification to submit their applications. The application cycle is now officially open.
If you have not yet secured admission, you are encouraged to visit the university’s official website and submit your application. Both domestic and international students are welcome to apply.

- Applications Open: Saturday, 18 April 2026
- Application Closing Date: Friday, 31 July 2026

Eligibility Criteria
The following applicants are eligible to apply:
Prospective students who are applying to a university for the first time and intend to pursue any of the following qualifications at Stellenbosch University:
- Higher Certificate
- Diploma
- Advanced Diploma
- Bachelor’s Degree
Undergraduate Programmes Offered
Stellenbosch University (SUN) offers a wide range of undergraduate programmes across various faculties. Below are some of the fields of study currently available:

- Science
- Theology
- Dietetics
- Physiotherapy
- MBChB (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery)

Minimum Entry Requirements
To study any undergraduate programme at Stellenbosch University, applicants must satisfy the following minimum requirements:
- A National Senior Certificate (NSC) or Independent Examinations Board (IEB) school-leaving certificate, certified by Umalusi, that qualifies the applicant for admission to bachelor’s degree studies.
- A minimum of 30% in a South African Language of Learning and Teaching (English or Afrikaans).
- An achievement rating of 4 (50%–59%) in four 20-credit subjects.
- Faculty-specific admission requirements, which may vary depending on the programme of study.
- Applicants who are applying to the Faculty of Law must write the NBT before the end of July. This includes BALaw, BComLaw, BAccLLB and the four-year LLB programme.
How Many Programmes Can I Apply For?
Undergraduate applicants are permitted to apply for up to three undergraduate programmes at Stellenbosch University.
Applicants must ensure that they meet the minimum admission requirements for each programme they select.

Application Fee
After submitting your application to Stellenbosch University, you will be required to pay a non-refundable application fee.
An application fee of R100.00 applies to the following applicants:
- South African citizens
- Holders of permanent residence in South Africa
- Individuals with refugee status in South Africa
- Individuals with asylum seeker status in South Africa
- Individuals with diplomatic status in South Africa
Important:
- For international undergraduate applicants, the application fee is R400.00.
Required Application Documents
Stellenbosch University will only be able to process and consider your application if all required supporting documents are submitted before the application closing date.
Applicants must provide the following:
- Proof of payment of the application fee
- A certified copy of your Identity Document (ID) or ID card
- A certified copy of your National Senior Certificate (NSC), or your final Grade 11 results if you are currently in Grade 12

- Create an account and activate it.
- Complete all the required sections of the application form.
- Select up to three undergraduate programmes you wish to apply for.
- Upload all required supporting documents.
