Stellenbosch University 2026 Reapplications Now Open

Stellenbosch University has officially reopened applications for returning students for the 2026 academic year. Both undergraduate and postgraduate students can now reapply.

When to Reapply to Stellenbosch University 2026

Prospective applicants who were not accepted for the 2025 academic intake can now reapply to the Stellenbosch University for the 2026 academic year. The university is currently accepting applications from all applicants, including those who previously applied but were rejected. The application deadlines are as follows:

Domestic students: July 31, 2025
International applicants: September 30, 2025
Residential applications: July 31, 2025, 12:00 p.m.

How to Reapply at Stellenbosch University

Below are the steps to reapply to Stellenbosch University:

Visit Stellenbosch University admissions page at www.sun.ac.za
Click on the “Returning OR Internal Applicant” link.
Enter your student number and PIN to log in.
If you’ve forgotten your PIN, click “Request a PIN” and enter your Maties student number to receive a new PIN in your registered email.
After receiving the PIN, log in using your student number and new PIN.

All previous applicants reapplying for the 2026 academic year at Stellenbosch University must ensure they have the following documents ready for the reapplication process:

For South African Applicants:

Certified copy of your South African ID.
Certified copy of your Grade 12 results (if completed).
Certified copy of your Grade 11 results (if currently in Grade 12).

For International Applicants:

Certified copy of your identification document from your home country.
Certified copy of your passport.
Valid South African study visa.
Medical report.
Proof of English proficiency:
- IELTS: Minimum overall score of 6.0
- TOEFL: Score range of 80–104
Sworn English translations for documents issued in languages other than English.
