UCT Application Closing Date for 2026

Applications for undergraduate studies at the University of Cape Town (UCT) for the 2026 academic year will officially close on Thursday, 31 July 2025. Postgraduate applicants should consult their respective faculties for specific application deadlines.

You are required to complete the application form, submit all supporting documents, and pay the non-refundable application fee within the application period. Late applications will not be considered and will automatically be disqualified.

Application Materials Required

Yu will need the following documents to apply to University of Cape Town

Currently in Grade 12

  • A certified copy of your ID
  • Final Grade 11 results

Completed your Grade 12/matric

  • An affidavit declaring that you have studied at another higher education institution (university or college). If you never enrolled at a university or college since completing high school, this must be declared in the affidavit.
  • A certified copy of your ID
  • Your final Grade 12 results

Transfer applicants:

  • An official academic transcript and a certificate of conduct from your previous college/university
  • A certified copy of your ID
  • Final Grade 12 results

UCT Student Financial Aid

The University of Cape Town (UCT) has allocated over R8 million in entrance scholarships for first-time students in 2026. South African citizens and permanent residents are eligible for these awards, which range from R20,000 to R100,000. No separate application is required to be considered for this funding.
