When to Apply for UJ Undergraduate Courses 2026
Under the updated schedule, the University of Johannesburg (UJ) has set the undergraduate application window for the 2026 academic year from April 1 to October 31, 2025. Late applications will only be reviewed if there are still available spaces after the deadline. How to Apply
To apply, visit www.uj.ac.za/Apply and click on ‘Apply’ to begin your application process. With over 178 undergraduate programs available, applicants can choose up to two study options on a single application form. You can either complete and submit your application online at no cost or download the paper-based application form from the University of Johannesburg’s official website. If applying manually, a non-refundable application fee of R200 must be paid into UJ’s bank account.
How to Complete UJ Application Form for 2026
To successfully complete the University of Johannesburg’s undergraduate application form, follow these steps:
- Go to the official website: www.uj.ac.za/Apply.
- Choose “New Applicant” if you are applying for the first time.
- Select Yes or No to indicate if you have a student number.
- If you are returning to finish an incomplete application, select Yes or No.
- Review the terms and click on “I Accept” to proceed.
- Provide your Biographical, Contact, Residence, and Nationality details in capital letters.
- Click on the “Next” button to continue to the next page.
- Check your inbox for an email containing your Student Number and temporary PIN (you can change the PIN if desired).
- Enter your Student Number and the PIN provided.
- Review the course prerequisites before making your selection. Download the prospectus to check course requirements.
- Complete all fields marked with a red asterisk
- Pay the application fee and upload the proof of payment.
- Scan and upload all required documents individually (maximum size: 5MB, accepted formats: Tiff, pdf, jpg, gif).
- Be sure to save your details before moving to the next section.
- After completing the application, click “Submit Application” to ensure your submission is received.
UJ Required Documents For Online Applications
The following documents must be ready at the time of application and submission:
- If you have completed your Grade 12 exams, you must provide a certified copy of your results.
- Certified copy of your Grade 11 (if you are currently in Grade 12) (South African only)
- A certified copy of your native country’s identification document
- A certified copy of your passport number from your home country
- Study Visa in South Africa
- Medical Report
- English Proficiency For Undergraduate programs, proof of IELTS with an overall score of 6 and TOEFL with an average score of 80–104 is required
- Sworn English Translation of documents (Documents issued in any Language other than English).
