When To Apply At UJ For 2025/2026 – Now Updated

The University of Johannesburg (UJ) typically accepts applications for admission to its programs from April 1 to October 31 of the year preceding the year of intended study. Therefore, between April 1 and October 31, 2024, prospective students who would like to apply for the academic intake of 2025–2026 can access and submit an online application to UJ.

Interested applicants and students may now apply online at www.uj.ac.za to study at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) by completing the 2025-2026 online application form. Prospective students can formally submit applications as all applications are welcome at UJ.

UJ Application Opening and Closing Dates For 2025-2026

The University of Johannesburg (UJ) will accept applications for all qualifications starting on Monday, April 1, 2024. The deadline for applications is October 31, 2024, after which they will close and the selection process will start. If you are thinking about submitting after the deadline, you should think twice because applications submitted after the deadline will only be considered if there are still courses available. What you need to apply for admission at UJ For 2025-2026

You must upload or submit the following documents to a specific channel. Before applying for admission to the University of Johannesburg, make sure you have them ready.

South African Applicant

Certified duplicates of your identification documents (ID)
If you have completed your Grade 12 exams, you must provide a certified copy of your results.
Certified copy of your Grade 11 (if you are currently in Grade 12)

Any other countries besides South Africa

A certified copy of your native country’s identification document
A certified copy of your passport number from your home country
Study Visa in South Africa
Medical Report
English Proficiency For Undergraduate programs, proof of IELTS with an overall score of 6 and TOEFL with an average score of 80–104 is required
Sworn English Translation of documents (Documents issued in any Language other than English).

Application Fees

The online application is FREE. All manual applications will incur an R200 non-refundable processing fee. Manual application users must submit proof of payment by attaching a copy of the receipt to the fully completed application form for 2025-2026 for submission.

Entry Requirements

Some programmes require students to submit additional information as part of their application. Applications without the additional requirements will not be considered

The University of Johannesburg (UJ) Application Process for 2025-2026

To apply to the University of Johannesburg (UJ), follow the steps outlined below.

Log in to the application portal

Visit the official website at ul.ac.za/Apply if you have good internet access.
If you are a new applicant, select “New Applicant.”
Select Yes/No from the drop box if you have the student number.
Select Yes/No from the drop-down menu to indicate whether you are returning to finish an unfinished application.

Accept the Clause to Proceed

Read the clause that appears after the previous step and check the box “I Accept.” to continue

Register your profile

Enter your Biographical details, Contact Information, Residence Information, and nationality. ( Please enter your biographical details in CAPS.)
Click on the Next Button to continue to the next page
You will then receive an email with your Student Number and a temporary pin. You can choose to change or keep the pin.

Log in with your new student number

Enter your student number and PIN now.

Choose your field of studies

Choose your course after reviewing the individual course prerequisites.
Before applying, download the university prospectus and review the course requirements.
The decision will be based on these criteria. Please reconsider your selection if it does not meet the requirements.

Pay the Required Fee

Pay the application fee and upload the proof of payment on the portal during the online submission (Manual Applicants only)

Upload the supporting documents

Keep uploading the necessary documents. These documents must be scanned and uploaded individually.
The scanned files should not exceed 5MB or 512KB in size. Tiff, pdf, jpg, or gif file formats are required.
Remember to save each page before moving on to the next.
If you do not save your data before proceeding, you will lose it.

Submit your application

Please ensure that you press the Submit Application button once you have completed your application to ensure that they receive it.
