University of Fort Hare Application Forms Now Available: Download Now and Apply Early!
Prospective students: Download your University of Fort Hare application form today and start your journey towards higher education! As of April 1, 2024, forms are available for download on the university’s website and can be filled out manually.
Applying early is key, as late applications for the 2025-2026 academic year are not guaranteed acceptance.
Before deciding on what to study, prospective students should download the University of Fort Hare prospectus and research the application requirements for their desired courses. Attach all required documents to your completed application FORM and mail it to the address listed in this post or to any UFH campus near you.
No manual posted or over-the-counter applications will be accepted for any other course except for the exceptions. Please remember that applicants have only three options (to be filled in on one form). Any additional applications will be rejected.
The University of Fort Hare Application For 2025-2026
Applicants to the University of Fort Hare must meet the following requirements
- Apply to UFH by the application deadlines – Open from April 01 2024 to 31 October 2024.
- All required documents must be certified (Latest results, ID, Academic certificates and the rest)
- All academic requirements of the courses chosen must be met.
- Have a valid and operational email address and phone number
- Ensure that all required fields are filled out.

- Scroll down to the bottom of the page
- Hover over the links to find your qualification under the FORMS heading.
- Select your country. (South African or International applicant)
- Click on the links that correspond to your qualification (Undergraduate & postgraduate)

Send in your University of Fort Hare 2025 Application form and documents
Completed application forms and accompanying documents must be submitted to the Admissions Office. You can submit your application form and accompanying documents in two ways:
- Forms can be hand-delivered at the campus where the programme is offered.
- Email your application to applications2025@ufh.ac.za along with all required documents. Your application will not be processed unless you provide these, and please keep your original proof of payment slips, especially if you are applying for residency, as this is also required during registration.

Postgraduate Documents Required
- Identity Document
- Marriage Certificate (if applicable)
- Original Proof of payment of the application fee
- Matric Certificate
- SAQA clearance certificate (foreign student)
- Academic Record, including proof that the Certificate of Conduct has been requested from the previous University / University of Technology / Technikon if you had registered at another institution
Undergraduate Documents Required

The University of Fort Hare Admission Entry Requirements for 2025-2026
The following are the prerequisites for undergraduate, postgraduate, and international applications.
South African
Undergraduate courses
Applicants holding a South African National Senior Certificate (NSC) need to pass a minimum of 4 subjects at a rating of 4 (Adequate Achievement, 50-59%) or better in any four 20-credit NSC subjects. Applicants holding a South African Senior Certificate need matriculation endorsement.
Postgraduate Courses
The admission requirements for postgraduate study vary depending on the program. You should contact the Faculty directly to find out what is required for the course or degree that you want to pursue.
International Applicants
Undergraduate
Applicants holding non-South African school-leaving certificates must qualify for a matriculation exemption certificate. Declaration by Parent/Guardian for Minor Applicants must accompany all applications by learners under the age of 18.
Postgraduate
All applicants with non-South African qualifications are required to have their qualifications evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
