How to submit UFH Application Form for 2026 admissions

Completed application forms and accompanying documents must be submitted to the Admissions Office. You can submit your application form and accompanying documents in two ways:

Forms can be hand-delivered at the campus where the programme is offered.
Email your application to applications2026@ufh.ac.za along with all required documents. Your application will not be processed unless you provide these, and please keep your original proof of payment slips, especially if you are applying for residency, as this is also required during registration.
No manual posted or over-the-counter applications will be accepted.

The University of Fort Hare Admission Entry Requirements for 2026

The following are the prerequisites for undergraduate, postgraduate, and international applications.

South African

Undergraduate courses

Applicants holding a South African National Senior Certificate (NSC) need to pass a minimum of 4 subjects at a rating of 4 (Adequate Achievement, 50-59%) or better in any four 20-credit NSC subjects. Applicants holding a South African Senior Certificate need matriculation endorsement.

Postgraduate Courses

The admission requirements for postgraduate study vary depending on the program. You should contact the Faculty directly to find out what is required for the course or degree that you want to pursue.

International Applicants

Undergraduate

Applicants holding non-South African school-leaving certificates must qualify for a matriculation exemption certificate. Declaration by Parent/Guardian for Minor Applicants must accompany all applications by learners under the age of 18.

Postgraduate

All applicants with non-South African qualifications are required to have their qualifications evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
