WITS University Online Application 2026/ Wits University Undergraduate Applications are now Open to Eligible High School Graduates!

Wits University is now accepting applications from high school graduates (matriculants) who wish to further their education. All applications are considered based on academic performance and the availability of space in the chosen program, regardless of the applicant’s background.

It is important to note that all applicants must meet the admission requirements, regardless of their location.

Wits 2026 Applications Now Open

Applications for the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) for the 2026 intake open on March 1, 2025. Prospective applicants must download and complete the application form, then submit it with their academic results, certificates, and other relevant supporting documents. Online submission is also available. The application deadline is September 30, 2025.

In compliance with the POPI Act, applicants must complete their own applications and accept the university’s legal declaration of indemnity and undertaking. The University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) will not engage with third-party agents facilitating applications on behalf of applicants.

Applications are now open for the 2026 academic year at Wits University. Learners and non-learners from across the globe are encouraged to apply, as the selection process does not discriminate based on country or language.

Wits Application Requirement for 2026

The following documents are required during the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) application process.

Current Matriculants: Upload your Grade 11 final grades (no hard copy required).
Already Matriculated: Upload certified copies of all your matric certificates/foreign school leaving certificates.
From other postsecondary institutions: For all tertiary registrations, upload a certified copy of official academic records, including a statement/certificate of good conduct stamped by the institution’s registrar.

WITS Application Fee For 2026

There is a non-refundable application fee of R100 for South African citizens and R700 for foreign citizens, which can be paid through the self-service portal. Log in to the self-service portal and click the Campus Finances tile. Select Make a Payment > Application Fee

Wits 2026 Application Online Process

Follow the steps below to complete the 2026 University of the Witwatersrand application form to study undergraduate courses.

Use Mozilla Firefox or Chrome
Ensure you have stable internet
Go to www.wits.ac.za.
Find and select the “STUDY@WITS” section.
Choose the option to apply online.
Provide your ID and password to register.
Use your ID number to access the portal.
Review and agree to the terms and conditions.
Choose your qualification from the drop-down menu or type it in.
After selecting your course, click “Save and Continue.”
Fill out all required fields in the form.
Agree to the rules once more.
Finalize your application submission.
Provide all necessary documents as required.
Submit the fee and upload proof of payment.
WITS will send an email confirming receipt of your application.
Check your application status

N.B: Ensure that you submit the application and receive a letter acknowledging that your application has been submitted

All campuses of the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) will be open to assist any applicant with their online applications. There is no fee to be assisted by THE University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) staff.
