The Durban University of Technology (DUT) is now accepting applications for the 2025-2026 academic year! You can conveniently apply online through the university’s application portal until November 30, 2024.

DUT will also be accepting manually submitted applications for the 2025-2026 intake. Simply download the application form from the website, fill it out by hand, and submit it according to the instructions provided.

Durban University of Technology (DUT) is accepting applications for undergraduate and postgraduate programs starting March 1, 2024. This applies to both domestic and international students enrolling for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Application Deadlines for Durban University of Technology (DUT)

The deadline to apply to DUT for the 2025-2026 academic year is approaching. Here’s when DUT will officially close all 2025 applications:

  • Diploma and Degree Programs: November 30, 2024
  • Higher Certificate Programs: November 30, 2024

Some programs may, however, have earlier deadlines. Double-check the specific program you’re interested in to ensure you meet the correct deadline.

Both your application and application fee must be submitted to the CAO by the deadline.

DUT May Consider Your Application After Deadline

The Durban University of Technology (DUT) might still accept applications for some programs even after the deadline for the 2025-2026 academic year. However, this doesn’t mean everyone who applies late will be accepted. Space is limited, so meeting the minimum requirements is crucial.

We’ll update you on the official late application period once it’s announced. Typically, it happens in February, and there’s an extra fee for late submissions.

What Documents Do you Need to Apply at DUT?

One (1) Certified Copy of each of the following documents must be attached or uploaded:

  • Certified copies of your identity document
  • Final Grade 11 & Grade 12 certificate ( June/ Trial report if you have not written your final examination)
  • Students transferring from other universities should submit an original academic record and a certificate of good conduct
  • A valid study permit
  • A valid medical aid/health insurance cover
  • A valid passport
  • Proof of application fee

How to Apply online to the Durban University of Technology (DUT) For 2025

To apply for your undergraduate or postgraduate course, please follow the steps below:

STEP 1.01:

  • Go to the official website, cao.ac.za, and click “Apply.”

STEP 1.02:

  • After reading the information, click ” Continue with Application.

STEP 1.03:

  • After you’ve entered your ID number, click “Submit.”

STEP 1.04:

  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and then click “Continue with Application.”

STEP 1.05:

  • Fill in ALL of the required information first.

STEP 1.06:

  • Once you’ve completed all of the required fields, click “Next.” It is necessary to click “Continue with Online Application.”

STEP 1.07:

  • Your CAO number, password, and EasyPay number will be visible and known in a pop-up window.

STEP 1.08:

  • Click “Continue with Online Application.” after seeing your number

STEP 1.09:

  • After thoroughly reading the instructions and providing ALL required information, click “Next.”

STEP 1.0:

  • Click “Next” after filling out the “Next of Kin” information.

STEP 1.1:

  • When the name of the school appears in a box, enter the dates of your initial enrollment and graduation before clicking “Search.” Repeat this process until all of the required fields are filled.

STEP 1.2:

  • To proceed, click “Next.”

STEP 1.3:

  • Now that your application has been submitted, click the button that says “process my application.”

STEP 1.4:

  • A notification will appear on your screen if your submission was successful.

STEP 1.5:

  • You can now pay online and upload supporting documentation.

STEP 1.6:

  • Submit the forms for approval.

DUT Admission Tips for 2025

  • Meeting the minimum admission requirements for your chosen/intended programme of study does not guarantee admission, as limited spaces are available in each programme.
  • You must however meet all the minimum admission requirements for the programme you intend to study before you will be considered for admission.
