The administration of the University of Cape Town officially opened the online application form to all prospective applicants on April 01, 2023, and it will close on July 31, 2024. Those interested in attending the University of Cape Town should go to the university’s home page and complete the online application form before the closing date.
All applicants for 2024 admissions must apply through the application portal. However, manual applications for the University of Cape Town admissions will be accepted in 2024-2025. So, if you prefer that one, download it and fill it out by hand with a pen.

When to Appy to the University of Cape Town for 2024
Applications for bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD programs or courses at the University of Cape Town will be accepted beginning April 01, 2023. The application period for both domestic and international applicants at the University of Cape Town will start on April 01, 2023. All undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the University of Cape Town will be open for enrollment in 2024-2025 on April 01, 2023.
The University of Cape Town Undergraduate and Postgraduate Closing Dates for 2024-2025
The online application for the University of Cape Town is now open and will close on July 31, 2024. If you haven’t submitted your applications for 2024 admissions yet, you can do so as long as you do so within the deadlines.
Do not wait any longer because late applications will not be considered at the University of Cape Town unless courses are still available after the deadline, which is 31 July 2023 for undergraduate students. Most postgraduate programmes containing coursework will close on 31 October 2023, with the exception of a few programmes and faculties which start to close from May onward.

2024-2025 Late applications for programs with available spaces as of the closing dates will be accepted at the University of Cape Town. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance into a program after the application deadline.

The University of Cape Town Application Fee For 2024-2025
South African and SADC applicants must pay an R100 non-refundable application fee. International applicants must pay an application fee of R300. Application fees will not be refunded under any circumstances.

What Documents Are Needed to Apply to the University of Cape Town Online
One (1) Certified Copy of each of the following documents is needed/required to apply to the University of Cape Town:
Undergraduate
- A copy of your examination results from Grade 11 until September of grade 12 must be submitted.
- Passport or ID
- Proof of payment for the application fee
- Transferring students should submit all transcripts and academic records
Postgraduate
- Certified paper copies of documents uploaded online as part of your application
- Academic transcripts which may not have been available at the time of your application must be uploaded to our
- student system; please log in using your username and password, and complete the submission; certified paper copies of such uploaded documents must be submitted
- Where applicable, evidence of English language proficiency must be provided
- V., indicating work experience (if any, give name(s) of the employer(s), period(s) of employment (e.g. 2019-2023) and primary area of responsibility
- Research outline and/or motivation of specified length
- Referees’ names and contact details (two referees will be required)

Step 2:
- Click on “Apply Online”
Step 3:
- Select your type of qualification (undergraduate or postgraduate)
Step 4:
- Read the application instructions

- Choose the year you are applying for and click “Continue”
Step 6:
- Read and Accept the “UCT PRIVACY NOTICE”
Step 7:
- Fill in the spaces with your personal details to create a “UCT account” or choose “NO” to sign in with your email address and password.
Step 8:
- Complete and submit your application for review.
