The Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) has officially released the application deadlines for the 2026 academic year. Whether you are applying for undergraduate, postgraduate, or research programmes, it’s crucial to know your closing date to avoid missing out.
CPUT is one of South Africa’s most popular universities, and competition is always high. Many courses fill up quickly, so applying early will give you a much better chance of securing a place in your preferred programme.
When Do CPUT Applications for 2026 Close?
Here is a full breakdown of the CPUT 2026 application closing dates, depending on the programme and applicant type:
- June 30, 2025 → Early deadline for certain specific programmes.
- July 31, 2025 → Deadline for other selected programmes.
- August 29, 2025 → Final deadline for international applicants.
- September 30, 2025 → Final closing date for South African citizens applying for undergraduate and Advanced Diploma programmes.
- March 13, 2026 → Closing date for full research Master’s degrees (both South African and international applicants).
📌 Tip: Don’t wait until the last day. Submit your application and upload all required documents as early as possible. Late submissions will only be considered if space is still available in your programme.
How to Apply
Apply online through the official CPUT website at www.cput.ac.za. Most applications must be submitted online, but a few courses still allow paper applications. If you’re applying for one of those, you’ll find the full list on the university’s main page.
Required Documents for CPUT 2026 Applications
To complete your application successfully, you will need to upload certified copies of your supporting documents. Make sure you have the following ready:
- Proof of payment of your application fee
- South African ID Document OR Passport (for international students)
- Certified copy of your Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification
- Academic records and Certificate of Conduct (for transfer students)
- Permanent Residency/Refugee/Asylum documentation (if applicable)
- School leaving certificate + English translation (for international applicants)
- SAQA Evaluation Certificate (for foreign qualifications)
- WAEC/NECO scratch card (for West African students)
- Congo-Brazzaville: Liste des Admis au Bac
- Proof of registration for Grade 12 upgrading (if upgrading results)
How to Upload Your Documents
When submitting documents online, follow these guidelines:
- Each document must be scanned and uploaded individually.
- Accepted formats: TIFF, PDF, JPG, or GIF.
- Maximum file size: 2MB per document.
