When to Apply to VUT 2027 (Application Timeline)

Opening Date: Wednesday, 1 April 2026

Applications to the Vaal University of Technology (VUT) must be submitted online before the following deadlines:

• Academic applications (South African citizens): 30 September 2026
• Residence applications (South African citizens): 31 October 2026

Documents Required for VUT Application 2027

Applicants must submit the following documents:

• Certified copy of South African ID or passport (for international applicants)
• Certified copy of Grade 11 results or latest Grade 12 results
• Complete academic records (for international applicants)
• Proof of application fee payment (R110)
• Proof of address (optional)

Applications without proof of payment will not be processed.

VUT Eligibility Criteria for 2027

To qualify for admission at VUT, applicants must:

• Have a National Senior Certificate (NSC) or equivalent qualification
• Meet the required Diploma or Bachelor endorsement
• Meet the minimum APS score for the chosen programme
• Submit all required documents

Additional requirements may include:

• Interviews or portfolio submission (for selected programmes)
• Job shadowing or industry exposure (for certain courses)
• Placement tests in some departments

International qualifications will be evaluated by SAQA.

Tips

• Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission
• Only six subjects are used to calculate APS (excluding Life Orientation)
• Early application is strongly recommended
