- South African citizens (with a valid SA ID number)
- Permanent residents with a valid South African ID
- Refugees with a valid refugee permit
- Non–South African citizens (without a South African ID number)

Documents Required for CPUT 2027 Applications
When applying to CPUT, you will need to upload clear, certified copies of the following:
- South African applicants
- Certified copy of your ID document
- Certified copy of your Grade 11 final results (if currently in matric)
- Certified copy of your Matric certificate / NSC results (if completed)
- Academic transcripts (if transferring from another institution)
- International applicants
- A valid passport
- Equivalent school-leaving results, evaluated by SAQA (if required)
- Proof of English proficiency (if your schooling was not in English)
- Study visa (once accepted)
- Additional programme-specific requirements
- Some programmes (e.g., Design, Performing Arts, Health Sciences) may need portfolios, interviews, or additional documents. Always check the faculty requirements.
CPUT 2027 Application Fees
You are not required to pay an application fee to apply to study at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) for the 2027 application year, unless you are applying for a programme that requires manual submission.
How to Apply to CPUT for 2026
Follow these steps to complete your application:
Step 1: Choose Your Programme
- Review the list of faculties and qualifications on the CPUT website.
- Make sure you meet the minimum entry requirements for the course.
Step 2: Prepare Your Documents
- Scan and save all required documents in PDF format.
- Make sure they are certified copies and clearly visible.
Step 3: Complete the Online Application
- Visit the official CPUT application portal: www.cput.ac.za
- Create an account, fill in your details, and select your course choices.
- Upload all supporting documents.
Step 4: Pay the Application Fee (if manual submission)
- If you are applying with a paper form, pay the R100 application fee.
- Keep proof of payment attached to your application.
Step 5: Submit Before the Closing Date
- Double-check that everything is completed and uploaded.
- Submit your application by clicking “SUBMIT”
Step 6: Track Your Application
- Use the CPUT online system to track the status of your application.
