One of the limitations of the Cape Peninsula University admission process is the limited number of spaces available in some competitive programmes, which prevents the university from admitting all qualified applicants. Fortunately, many excellent programmes still have available spaces and remain open for applications for the 2027 academic year.
We are pleased to publish a selection of programmes that have not yet reached capacity and are still accepting applications from prospective students for the 2027 academic year.
Why You Need to Apply Now
The Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) 2027 application period opened on 11 May 2026 and will officially close on 30 September 2026. However, applications for some programmes may close before the deadline once capacity has been reached.
To avoid disappointment, prospective students are advised to apply as early as possible. With limited spaces available, early applicants are more likely to secure consideration, especially for competitive programmes with high demand.

Who can apply?
CPUT welcomes applications for the 2027 academic year from prospective students seeking admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Applications are also open to transfer students from other tertiary institutions who wish to pursue their studies at CPUT.
How to Apply Online at CPUT for 2026
Follow these quick steps to submit your application for any of the open courses
- Visit the CPUT Online Application Portal
- Click on “Apply Now” under the fourth step.
- Choose “No existing student number” to begin.
- Accept the POPI Act disclaimer.
- Complete the online form with:
- Personal details
- Academic history
- Contact information
- Select your preferred course from the available programs.
- Review the minimum admission requirements.
- Upload required supporting documents (certified ID, transcripts, etc.).
- Application Fee: Free for first-time online applicants; R100.00 for manual applications.
- Submit your application.
- You will receive an email confirming your submission.
